Patek Philippe World Time 5110p-001 18K white gold lozenge-shaped hour/minute hands. Platinum Patek Philippe knurled crown engrave with Patek Philippe Calatrava cross. World time watches combine a counter-clockwise 24-hour ring with a rotating chapter ring of reference cities.

In the case of the 5110G World Time, each reference city represents one of the 24 principal time zones of the earth. Multi-faceted dial made up of two peripheral rotating discs, with the outer disc identifying the city, and the inner disc denoting the respective time-zone.

Local time zone shown at twelve o’clock, with the cities to the East on the right, and the cities to the West on the left. The local time-zone can be easily changed by the pusher at ten o’clock.

Movement spiromax balance spring made of silicon-based Silinvar, working in conjunction with a Gyromax balance wheel with a shock absorber and a self-compensating free-sprung flat balance spring, straight-line lever escapement, 22K gold micro-rotor. The rhodium-plated mechanism has fausses cotes decoration and it's stamped with quality mark of the Seal of Geneva.

Geneva-area watchmaker Louis Cottier invented this system at the dawn of the 1930s, enabling a unique trick; one dial that permits instant reference to the time in any of the globe’s disparate regions. This model ref. 5110 was made from 2000 to 2006. It was the first world time model produced by Patek Philippe since the ref. 2523 and its successor is the reference 5130.
